Promote your leisure business after the COVID lockdown!
Okay, you know the drill, reopening after the COVID-19 lockdowns are lifted was what we we were all waiting for. But are you actually ready to grow? Let’s get strapped back in and run through certain aspects of our last post in a little bit more detail.
Social media plan
We all think we’re going to be able to post things on time, but even the best ensure that everything is scheduled. Get used to a different side of apps that you use on the regular because their deeper features and alternatives will give you a real boost.
There are apps like Hootsuite, which allow you to manage everything from one window, but if I’m honest, unless you’re utilising more than two or three social networks for a singular brand, it’s not necessary. In fact, it’s overkill. Get down and dirty with Facebook’s Creator Studio and Twitter’s better-looking sibling, Tweetdeck.
Creator Studio is designed so that anyone can use it. It’s a lot of things, but it’s got the boffins at Facebook behind the design, so even if you’re a novice, you’ll figure it out. Once you’ve scheduled things in fibodo, you can then go and do the very same – images, video, whatever you have – in Facebook Creator Studio. It’ll even handle your Instagram too.
Ensure your images also fit within Facebook’s algorithm parameters. They’re not too fond of text-heavy images coming from business pages.
Tweetdeck is literally just Twitter without some of the nice things that the regular app allows. However, it does allow you to see everything on one screen, including topics or searches, as well as schedule your tweets.
If you plan on using LinkedIn, you’ll want to perhaps find alternatives, which LinkedIn also handily have an entire blog promoting that they don’t have basic features.
Feedback in action
Last time we spoke about how feedback is crucial in these unforeseen days and we do hope you took note because this time we’re talking about making sure you’re highlighting what you’re putting into action.
Take the feedback and promote the hell out of it. Seriously, you went to the effort to ask, now show your workings out! Change class times around because people said that 6 is better than 7?
Maybe you’re adding facilities and extra dispensers to help keep the leisure centre free of a deadly virus.
Video-on-demand is your star
We’ve spoken about live-streaming, you know how our service can help you in ways that not a lot of other services can and you’re all set to include those who won’t want to join in person just yet, in addition to members who are working to a different schedule now. As your younger members wait to be vaccinated, you should absolutely still be considering your video output. Whatever happens, live-stream is here to stay and building it into a flexible membership model is something your membership will thank you for.
If you’re streaming to a larger platform but charging for classes, you absolutely need to ensure that things are set to private or unlisted. This way, your stream won’t be accessible except for those with the link. These larger platforms also allow you to ‘archive’ for future use, if you don’t have access to a laptop or desktop where you’re conducting the class. Get over any of these headaches with fibodo’s live stream, and on-demand content service.
Perhaps you’ve thought ahead and have the right equipment, so now is the time to consider purchasing a reliable hard drive for you to store videos that you’ve made. This should also be backed up elsewhere in case things go south. Certain apps on mobile devices will even allow you to record to an external drive, so do some research if you don’t want to drag a laptop along to your place of work!
With these local files or even downloaded archives (if you’re doing things through Zoom but stuck on mobile, you’ll need their subscription service), you can then cut them up, edit them and put them out in smaller chunks or hand them over to someone else to edit them into a small package for you to advertise with.
